Mad 1999

MAD this year was a mixture of highs and lows, read on to find out about some of them...

Steve decided that he was going to have a relaxing weekend. He was often found hiding with a book when others were partaking of the many interesting aspects of the weekend.

Dave Garratt fulfilled his usual role as everybody's favourite Psycho. Despite his appearence he is mostly harmless. Dave even managed to avoid causing any injuries during "Teen Spirit" in the disco.

Colin was called on to provide first aid treatment for sunburn, don't worry he knows what he is doing....

Steve continued to read his book, but he did not let this get in the way of the important parts of the weekends festivities.

Steve was one of several people who went to the space themed disco in fancy dressed as a monk, sorry I mean a Jarwa.

One of the oddest events of the weekend was a staring contest which lasted from about 10:30pm on the Saturday night until sometime on sunday morning. Having started during the disco the participants in this contest continued to stare at each other all night. The participants were not deterred by any of the problems that they encountered along the way and were relocated to our part of the site for most of the competition, except for several trips to the toilets. The question should not be how did they do it, but why?

Both participants made good efforts to catch up on the missed sleep later on sunday.

They were not the only people who seemed to be suffering the next day.

Old friends may be gone but are not forgotten. MAD will not be the same without you.

As always leaving was the hardest part of the weekend, but we managed it somehow!

To all those we met see you again soon.....
